I'm a lazy programmer. To reduce the amount of pagination logic I need to maintain in a lot of places on the site I just have a global check. If the url's last token is a number, that gets noted as a page number.
But this means subs like /s/911 or /s/8675309 or /s/420 end up erroring out.
I decided keeping the global logic is worth its advantages. I asked JC if he wants me to move his 911 posts. The posts work, but if someone navigates to the sub they aren't going to see the sibling posts. But now we need a poll.

I had to clear the poll idents for all the polls because they were getting too matchy. So I guess everyone gets to vote twice.
Ah that was probably the source of bug I told you about - when I opened some polls for the first time it seemed I already voted.
Yep. And it was accelerating. I wanted polls to not require a sign in so it's an easy thing to share with other sites. But obviously I don't want to make it easy to vote twice. When you sum up all the ways you can prevent vote duplication, it can start over matching. When the ident graph gets too connected it starts getting more and more connected.
I could try tuning it down. There are multiple ways I could and I'm unsure which is best. Or the really lazy method is I clear it every six months and everyone gets to vote twice. But at least it's everyone who gets to vote twice so it's fair.

I'm into numerology so I think it'd be good to have subs with numbers. That's how people will search for things like 911. I'd make a 33 sub.
